Merck Durham QC Lab Expansion Design Services

Merck aspires to be the premier research-intensive biopharmaceutical company to deliver innovative health solutions that advance the prevention and treatment of diseases and use the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives. They planned to construct a new three story, 18,000 SF expansion of the Durham campus.

The challenge was to design all hydronic piping throughout the existing building and structural attachment points, steam and steam condensate and domestic water piping. The effort would take substantial coordination due to the limited space and routing constraints in the existing infrastructure.

MNA provided the scope of delegated design which included pipe stress analysis, trapeze hanger calculations and details. The project was successfully completed and the customer was satisfied with the results of the project.
