The mission of the Hendricks County Work Release is to provide alternative sentencing options for felons and misdemeanants that provide economic, educational and vocational re-entry into the community. The center had outgrown its capacity to serve the community and needed a new facility.
Due to the facility’s age, several upgrades were proposed to help make the building more energy efficient, functional and safe. The proposed changes were significant upgrades that included: civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural design. HVAC DX units were proposed to decrease energy costs and improve air quality within the large structure.
MNA provided construction documents to design and construct a 30,000 square foot work release building which included a break room, women’s dayroom, men’s dayroom, lecture hall, search rooms, a dorm room, appropriate shower facilities, laundry room and classrooms. MNA also provided mechanical and electrical work for the project which culminated in a successful project collaboration with representatives from Hendricks County Work Release.
