Cummins Inc., is a global leader in power technology and invests in advanced training environments to ensure technicians are fully prepared to work with its engines, filtration, and power generation products. Cummins needed a controlled indoor environment at its facility in Columbus, Indiana, where technicians could train without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.
MNA Controls needed to design a system that met strict air-change code requirements and provided continuous visibility into the state of the system — all while working within tight budgetary constraints and using as much of the existing infrastructure as possible.
MNA Controls designed, procured, fabricated, and deployed a Safety Instrumented System (SIS) tailored to Cummins’ training environment. This included SIS design, programming, SIL calculations, and oversight of construction, commissioning, and testing. The MNA solution enables Cummins to safely train technicians indoors on natural gas and gasoline engines, providing a reliable, code-compliant system.
