Catalent Biologics provides contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) services, delivery technologies and manufacturing solutions to develop pharmaceuticals, biologics and consumer health products. Catalent planned to renovate and expand two areas within the Building A Drug Substance Area.
The project’s complex scope of work consisted of demolishing and reconstructing automated electrical systems (AES) panels within the space to create larger rooms for the additional equipment and bioreactors. Utilities and HVAC returns had to be relocated as well as making modifications to an existing equipment platform. Extensive demolition included the removal and infill of a floor scale pit. An added challenge was to design structural reinforcements required to accommodate new equipment loads on the building structure.
MNA provided architectural and engineering services that included structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical solutions throughout the design phase, pricing period, construction phase, program management and commissioning of the project. Catalent Biologics representatives were satisfied with the quality results of the project’s outcome.
